Analysing The Effects of Knitted Fabrics Physical Properties to The Heating of Sewing Machine Needles

Due to the increasing demand in clothing industry, industrial sewing machines operate at high speeds ranging from 2000 3000 revolutions per minute. One of most significant problems that adversely affect stitching quality and efficiency is needle temperature, which reaches up 300 oC influenced by various parameters such as machine speed, thread tension, fabric properties. In this study, heat generated friction between textile surface knitted fabrics properties affecting are examined. Four different knitting techniques twelve with varying weights, thicknesses, blend were used. An Optris CT3M pyrometer was employed measure temperature on needle.
